Advocacy at IAG

At IAG, advocacy focuses on sharing information, elevating educators and families’ perspectives, and supporting informed decision-making related to high ability education. Our advocacy work is grounded in research, classroom experience, and an understanding of Indiana’s education landscape.

IAG does not endorse political candidates or engage in partisan activity. Our role is to serve as a resource and facilitator, helping stakeholders better understand issues affecting high ability students.

IAG’s Role in Policy Conversations

IAG engages in advocacy by:

• Monitoring legislation and policy developments related to high ability education

• Sharing timely, factual updates with members during the legislative session

• Facilitating dialogue among educators, families, and education leaders

IAG works to support constructive conversations that respect local decision-making while highlighting the importance of strong identification and programming for high ability students.

During the Indiana legislative session, IAG provides members with regular updates summarizing relevant developments related to high ability education. These updates are intended to inform and help members stay aware of issues that may affect students and schools.
